Tea houses will differ from place to place, however the basic tea house will offer both a place to sleep as well as home cooked meals. Many of them even feature flush toilets, hot water showers and a selection of alcoholic beverages. They are similar to a bed and breakfast but with much more of a home-style comfort feeling. Most have a restaurant area where you can socialize with other trekkers and enjoy a little warmth from the stove while you eat or enjoy a beer in the evening before sleeping.
